Open the content editor
To create new content you have to open the content editor. To do so follow these steps:
Navigate to the content page: https://app.lumi.education/dashboard/content/folder/root
Click on the "Add content" button at the top right corner.
Choose "Create new content" from the dropdown menu.
Content Editor
You should now see the content editor. After you open the content editor for new content most buttons and functions are disabled: The "Deploy Content", "Export", and "Download" Button are greyed out. They will be enabled as soon as you first saved your new content.
Select a H5P content type
You now have to select the content type you wish to use. You can learn more about the H5P content types and view examples on https://h5p.org/content-types-and-applications. To select a H5P content type click on "Details". You will now see a page that describes the content type and shows you how the content type looks like. Click on "use" to select and use the content type.
Edit your content
You can now create and edit your content. In this example I have selected the "Multiple Choice" content type. Content types vary in complexity. Multiple Choice is one of the most simple H5P content types.
Give your content a title. The title is always needed and is also displayed as the file name in the folder system.
Next fill out the required fields. Required fields are often marked with a red asterisk:
For Multiple Choice these are: Title, Question, and Available Options.
After you edited these fields, click on the "Save" button in the top right corner:
Your content has been saved. This is indicated by the message in the bottom of the page and now all buttons like "Deploy Content", "Export", and "Download" are enabled.
View your content
To see how your new Multiple Choice content looks like click on the "View" tab next to the "Edit" tab on top of your content:
Note that in order to display the latest version of the content the content is saved every time you click on the "View" button. This is also indicated by the message at the bottom.
Close the content editor
You can now close the content editor by clicking on the X button at the top left corner. You will have to confirm that you want to close the editor in order to prevent accidental navigating away from the editor and losing content.
Congratiulations! You created your first content.
