Account linking lets you connect social sign-in providers — such as Google, GitHub, Apple, or Microsoft — to your Lumi account. Once linked, you can use any of your connected methods to sign in, without needing to remember separate passwords.

Linked Accounts

Lumi Cloud runs certain tasks — like importing H5P files or generating SCORM exports — in the background. Because these jobs can take a while, you can opt in to receive an email when they finish so you don't have to wait and watch.

Hosting, Infrastructure and Data Protection

To operate and maintain the platform, Lumi Education UG (haftungsbeschränkt) uses selected service providers (subprocessors) that process personal data on our behalf.

All subprocessors are carefully selected and contractually bound through Data Processing Agreements (Art. 28 GDPR). They process personal data only according to our documented instructions and must implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures.

H5P (short for HTML5 Package) is an open standard for creating and sharing interactive learning content on the web. It is widely used in learning management systems (LMS) and educational platforms to build engaging activities such as quizzes, interactive videos, drag-and-drop exercises, and presentations.

When exporting content, it is helpful to understand how HTML exports and SCORM exports are related.

H5P Content Types

A free HTML5-based game content type. A game map consists of stages that you can arrange on top of a background image. Each stage is connected to one or more stages and can hold an H5P content type for the user to view or complete. You can define rules that will determine what stage the user is allowed to move to, so you can create a game-like experience.

Pick the Symbols is an interactive H5P content type that allows learners to select specific symbols from a larger set. It’s especially useful for visual recognition tasks, categorization, and reinforcing conceptual understanding through pattern identification.

This section of the H5P collection provides in-depth technical background on how H5P works under the hood. It is designed for educators, developers, and advanced users who want to better understand, extend, or troubleshoot H5P content.

Technical

The H5P Core is the underlying framework that powers all H5P content types. Every H5P activity (such as Interactive Video, Course Presentation, or Drag & Drop) depends on the version of the H5P Core installed on a platform.

Because different platforms update the H5P Core at different times, version mismatches can sometimes cause compatibility issues when sharing or importing content.

H5P Core Version Compatibility

H5P allows learning platforms to collect information about how learners interact with interactive content. This is typically done through xAPI (Experience API) statements. These statements describe what a learner did in an activity, such as answering a question or completing a task. However, an important limitation is often overlooked: not every H5P content type sends xAPI statements. Because of this, data collection is only possible for content types that actually implement xAPI tracking.

H5P no longer maintains a complete central list of all xAPI statements used by its content types. Instead, xAPI support and the exact statements that are sent are documented individually for each content type. You can find this information on the H5P website: https://h5p.org/content-types-and-applications. When opening a specific content type example, navigate to the “xAPI Coverage” tab. This section describes which xAPI statements the content type generates and when they are triggered. Because xAPI coverage varies between content types, not every H5P activity can provide the same level of tracking or learner data.

H5P libraries are the building blocks behind every interactive content type in Lumi. Each content type (like Interactive Video, Course Presentation, or Multiple Choice) depends on one or more libraries that define its functionality, layout, and behavior.

Behavioural settings in H5P control how learners interact with content. They determine what users can see, when they can proceed, how feedback is delivered, and how restrictive or open an activity is.

While the exact options vary slightly between content types (e.g., Interactive Video, Course Presentation, Quiz), most H5P activities share a common set of behavioural settings.

A deployment allows educators to publish content and distribute it via a shareable link, an embed code for websites or LMS platforms, or a QR code for quick access in classrooms.
